She began her work as a pathologist in an interim position at the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory for one month before working at a private diagnostic lab in the Seattle area for 2.5 years before joining IDEXX in 2021. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. Bower earned her DVM from Colorado State University before completing her anatomic pathology residency at the University of Tennessee.
